Why the Submariner

The Submariner has existed since 1953 and has essentially never changed: a robust case, a rotating dive bezel and a clear dial. That is why it works with a suit and with jeans.

Since 2020 the case is 41 mm, with a slightly slimmer bracelet. Older versions are 40 mm and wear a little more compact.

What to look out for

Whether the reference and serial number match the watch
The condition of the ceramic bezel and the crystal
Whether it has been polished, visible in the sharpness of the case edges
Box, papers and warranty card

Is a Hulk or Starbucks a good purchase?
Models that are out of production, such as the Hulk, are scarce and remain sought after. The Starbucks is still available new and is therefore more stably priced.

40 mm or 41 mm?
Try both on if you can. The difference is small, but the bracelet of the 41 mm sits differently on the wrist.
